Mad Stitches

I started stitching when I was about 7 years old and was taught by my grandmother (mother's mum). I finished my first big project when I was 10. It was a large picture of a dog with a pink bow-tie. Stitched on 11 or 8 count aida, can't remember, and in 6 strands of DMC threads.

I have alwasy used DMC threads as I find that they look nicer together. I do however use the Anchor threads for patterns that require them eg. Humphreys Corner and Tatty Teds (Grey Bears as my sister calls them).

I have always stitched on aida fabric too using the higher counts from 14 upwards. Recently I have started using evenweave fabric too but still feel myself a beginner at it. But then again practice makes perfect!!!

I like to stitch the following:
Oriental,  Egyptian,  Disney, Mythological,  Rennie Mackintosh,  Lizzie*Kate, Country Companions, Humphrey's Corner, Forever Friends.
And anything colourful!
I think there are more but can't think what they are at the moment.

Hope you enjoy looking through some of my stitching. And please help yourselves to the freebies.
